Writing. Directing. Acting. Costume.
Balancing imagination and creativity with practicality and cost is the line Rachel has spent her career treading.

My Profile

My Background
Rachel grew up in Hertfordshire and has been performing since she was a small child in school and local productions. Her directorial debut was at 17 with a production of The Man in the Bowler Hat by A.A. Milne at her school. Followed by her writing debut at 18 with a Cinderella pantomime in November 2019. Since then she hasn't stopped. In 2020 she moved to Norwich to attend the University of East Anglia to study Drama. This was followed by a Masters Degree in Scriptwriting. She fell in love with Norfolk and it inspires much of her current work.

My Approach
Rachel's work always includes a lot of humour. She aims to bring joy with her writing and explores themes of family, friendship, queer joy, and finding kindness in the world. The costumes she designs are often colourful with bold patterns, experimenting with different silhouettes. As a director she brings this style into the set as well, and loves exaggerated acting, which fits well into her favourite style of theatre: Pantomime.
My Skillset
Rachel loved art as a child, drawing fashion silhouettes and costume designs constantly in her free time. She learnt to sew at home, before studying costume as part of her undergrad degree in Drama. She always excelled at creative writing, before finding a love of script writing in her late teens. She studied it as part of her undergrad before specialising in it for her Masters. Her directing skill was mostly self taught, learning via watching her directors when she was an actor and then throwing herself into it when opportunities presented itself.
"What unifies [Rachel's] work is a generous humanity, warmth and love of telling a story across media."
